July Dog Daycare Highlights

July's Activity is Splash & Seek Water Foraging
This July at EmBark Academy, we're beating the heat with our Splash and Seek water foraging enrichment activity! This month's challenge taps into your dog's natural foraging instincts by using water as a dynamic, moving puzzle. Confident water lovers will wade into our shallow puppy pool to find treats in floating targets, while our ambitious, canines will tackle treat-stuffed floating sponges for an additional challenge. Some dogs prefer to keep their paws dry! They will have a low pressure version using a stable water bowl on the ground so every pup can participate at their own comfort level. This activity builds problem-solving confidence, while enjoying a calming, focus driven mental workout.
Beyond this main puzzle we'll keep the H20 fun going all month long with spontaneous hose play, frozen treats and other cooling activities.
July Tips and Summer Fun
Keeping your dogs safe and comfortable in the July heat can be a challenge! Before walks, check the pavement with your hand. If it's too hot for you, then it's too hot for their paws. For a cooling snack try freezing some pet friendly bone broth (No sodium) or add some fruit pieces to an ice cube tray.
On those brutally humid days where it is simply too hot for outdoor exercise, offer some indoor enrichment or let us keep them busy. EmBark Academy is air-conditioned, offering a safe, climate-controlled space where your dog can burn off some energy with their friends without overheating. Combined with our water activities and chilled treats, daycare is the perfect way to give your pup a fun filled day without the risks.

June Recap
Take a moment to see the fun the dogs had last month at Embark Academy! From interactive playtime to outdoor adventures, our furry friends enjoyed every paws-on moment! Check out the photos and highlights of our exciting activities.

June Enrichment
Our June enrichment activity put everyone's problem solving skills to the test. The dogs worked to figure out how to spin the bottles using their noses and paws to release the treats inside. Each dog approached the challenge differently, and it was so much fun watching their creativity, persistence, and confidence grow as they discovered what worked.
We adjusted the difficulty so each dog could enjoy the experience, while getting a good mental work out and success. It was a fantastic way to provide mental stimulation while letting their personalities shine.

Reminders
Our next puppy group classes will be starting Tuesday, July 21. Please be sure to register your puppy by July 20th. Spots are limited, please check for information and updates on our Services tab.

New Friends
We always welcome some new faces in daycare! Please say hello to our newest friends.
We make sure to make each dog feels understood and we take their individual needs into account. Shy dogs get additional one-on-one snuggle time with staff, while high energy pups get some extra structured play.
