January Dog Daycare Highlights
January Enrichment
This months enrichment theme is scenting! We'll be setting up a few interesting scents for the dogs to explore, and give opportunities for them to use their noses to find tasty treats!

Scenting is great mental stimulation for your dog, it can help to reduce stress and build confidence.
​
At EmBark Academy we love to encourage dogs to take part in natural behaviours allowing them to follow their instincts in a healthy and structured way.
Healthy Snack
This month we are adding fresh carrot pieces to our daycare days! Carrots are a safe, low-calorie snack for the dogs to enjoy which are packed with fiber, vitamins and antioxidants. The satisfying crunch also helps to keep their teeth clean.
Some dogs may not enjoy raw carrots, if your dog is one of them, feel free to bring along a healthy snack they prefer. But don't be surprised if they give carrots a try when they see their friends crunching away!
Nail Trims &
Desensitization Training
We offer nail trims during daycare! If your dog is comfortable, we can use a Dremmel for a smoother finish.
For pups who are more sensitive or anxious, please ask about our stress-free desensitization training program to help them feel more comfortable and relaxed with nail care.

Nail trims are also available for dogs who do not attend daycare. Please give us a call to schedule an appointment.

Private Training
Now Available
Exciting news! Private training sessions are now available, either in your home, or at our facility. With over 30 years of experience, we use positive reinforcement, force-free methods, and include fun enrichment activities to help puppies and adults thrive. ​

December Enrichment
December was a fun time for the pups in daycare! We had a decorated gingerbread box house filled with stuffing and treats to forage through and shred!
Mid-December we also had a fun craft for the dogs to participate in and brought their families a cute holiday surprise!

What fun, festive cheer! We celebrated the season by introducing a sneak peak at our studio photography with these holiday pups!

New Friends
We always welcome some new faces in daycare! Please say hello to our newest friends.
We make sure to make each dog feels understood and we take their individual needs into account. Shy dogs get additional one-on-one snuggle time with staff, while high energy pups get some extra structured play.
