Training Services
We offer positive, force-free training for puppies and adult dogs, helping with obedience, leash manners, reactivity, excessive barking and jumping on guests. Sessions focus on building confidence, strengthening the relationship you have with your dog, and adding fun and enrichment to every learning experience. Each program is tailored to your goals while keeping you dog's wellbeing at the center. Training at EmBark Academy is led by Suzie, who has years of hands-on experience helping families enjoy calmer, happier, and more confident dogs.

Each session includes enrichment activities to make learning fun and engaging, while helping your puppy develop, calm happy habbits.

Play and Train
Private Training During Daycare!
Enhance your dogs daycare day with Play and Train, a private training add-on focused on building real-life skills in a structured and stress-free way. This program offers targeted one-on-one training during their half or full day stay to support better manners, focus and confidence.

Training is organized into progressive tiers, starting with foundational skills and gradually advancing as your dog is ready. Moving up tiers is optional and based entirely on each dog's comfort and progress.
After each session, you'll receive a short video update so that you can actually see what your dog worked on and how they are improving over time.

How it works:
During their daycare stay, your dog will be taken to a separate area to work one-on-one with a trainer for 2 short sessions which are typically 10 minutes each. These sessions are intentionally brief and spaced apart because dogs learn best in short, focused bursts rather than long training blocks. This helps maintain your dog's attention, prevents mental fatigue and ensures each session ends on a positive note.

See below for the structured tiers. There will be a brief test to determine which tier your dog is best suited to join. If you have any specific requests or training goals, our trainer will be happy to discuss if this is something that we can add into their training sessions.
Training Tiers
Tier 1
Attention and Communication Skills
Dogs new to structured training or needing focus and engagement skills. No prerequisites needed! ​
They will learn:

Touch/Hand targeting

Calm proximity to handler with mild distractions

Tier 2
Core Obedience Foundations
Prerequisite: Consistent name response and reliable hand targeting. ​
They will learn:

Sit on verbal cue with 3 second duration

Down, on verbal cue with lure if needed.

Recall foundation at short distance
-
Intro to loose leash walking
-
Stay foundation with short duration.
Tier 3
Reliability & Impulse Control
Prerequisite: Reliable sit/down, basic recall with leash attached​​
They will learn:

Sit/Down with duration (Up to 30 seconds with mild distraction)

Leash free recall with mild distraction (fully enclosed environment)
-
Loose leash walking consistency, fading rewards begins
-
Place/Mat work, settling behaviour​

Leave it, low value food/objects
Tier 4
Advanced Control in real-life situations
Prerequisite: Consistent tier 3 performance in low distraction environments.
They will learn:

Reliable recall under moderate/high distraction

Go to place from distance with extended duration with some distraction

Advanced loose leash walking and intro to heel, front and middle positions

Good impulse control around food, doors, toys and interruption of play

Controlled release (drop object or toy)
Fun simple tricks to impress
Rapid Tricks
Prerequisite: Completion or equivalent of tiers 1&2
Rapid Tricks is all about training your dog fun engaging skills that build confidence, sharpen focus and strengthen your bond.
They will learn:​

Please note: Some dogs are not physically capable, or may have difficulty performing certain tricks. This is meant to be fun for you and your dog and finding tricks best suited for each individual.

At EmBark Academy we're proud to offer training services provided by Rainfire Training, led by Suzie.
From small group puppy classes to personalized private sessions right here at the daycare facility or in-home training, we're here to help your dog learn and grow.
Bookings and payments for sessions are handled directly through Rainfire Training.
